Design Inspiration

Gold Leaf is a tribute and exploration. It honors Australia’s extraordinary birdlife, celebrates the legacy of women artists, and finds beauty in coexistence - between native and introduced, past and present, art and nature.

The hero of this work, the pair of Gouldian Finches - nestled amongst the blooms with their vivid plumage and delicate presence are among Australia’s most striking native birds. Named after Elizabeth Gould, a pioneering British natural history illustrator and author of the monumental publication The Birds of Australia 1848.

The Artist's Story

All original artwork has been hand-painted and arranged here in Australia. At its heart, this design is a celebration of women's art - especially the tradition of painting flora and fauna.

The design embraces a modern baroque opulence, where Gouldian Finches and cascading blooms rest upon a patina of gold leaf. Did you notice the play on language and legacy, it invites beauty to take root in the space between wild nature and refined art.

Made from premium 375 thread count cotton sateen, this quilt cover will feel noticeably smoother and more luxurious than the 225–250TC percale commonly found in Australian quilt covers.

Every Luxotic design is an original hand-painted artwork, created and designed in Australia. Each design is a unique composition developed in-house before being printed onto fabric.

Will the colours look the same in person as on screen?
We photograph our products carefully to represent true colours as accurately as possible.

Screens can vary slightly, so we recommend also checking our customer photos for a real-life reference.

What is your return policy?
We offer 90-day returns on all full-priced items. Items must be unused, unwashed, and in original packaging.
