Design Inspiration
I was inspired to create Azura Selva from my everyday connection to the lush coastal beauty of the Northern Beaches where the rhythm of the ocean meets the vibrancy of native flora. I’ve always felt deeply connected to nature and painting tropical botanicals feels like an extension of that, a way to bring the warmth, colour and energy of the natural world indoors.
This design captures the sense of calm and wonder I feel when surrounded by greenery, a moment of escape into a wild, tropical dreamscape that still feels deeply grounded with home.
The Artist's Story
The floral placement of the The incorporation of a humming bird is to enhance the idea of hovering around nature and natural beauty. Bathed in the mysterious light of twilight, Azura Selva captures the quiet magic of a tropical jungle as night begins to fall.
Deep blueish green tones create a lush backdrop where vibrant lilies unfold and tangled vines breathe with life. At its heart, a delicate hummingbird hovers in motion, drawn to the nectar of a vivid floral vine, a symbol of vitality amidst stillness.
Painted in finely detailed watercolour, the design balances precision and wildness, echoing the layered beauty of nature itself. With its rich contrasts and serene depth, Azura Selva invites you into a tranquil dreamscape, a moment suspended between day and night, colour and calm, art and escape.
The most challenging design element was balancing the likeness of delicate flowers whilst using watercolours to encapsulate their deep rich colour pallets. My favourite part was seeing each hand painted element come to life on the smooth satin sateen, the rich colours and detail transforming into something truly luxurious and vibrant.
Colour & Styling
Azura Euros showcase deep bluish-green tones with layered florals in soft pinks, purples, and ivory, finished with expressive hummingbird details. Designed to pair seamlessly with the Azura Quilt Cover Set or styled as a standalone statement cushion.
Perfect for creating height at the head of the bed or adding richness to sofas and reading nooks.
